DOBOLINO e.V. - Förderung des KinderMusikTheaters und des Kinderchors der Deutschen Oper Berlin

The goal of DOBOLINO is to promote an understanding of German music and opera culture among children and school-age children an understanding of German and international music and opera culture, to introduce them to musical and musical-dramatic works and, if necessary, to encourage them to actively participate. Since its founding in 2008, the Children's Choir of the Deutsche Oper Berlin has not only become an integral part of the opera's artistic ensemble, participating in important productions such as Carmen, Parsifal and A Midsummer Night's Dream. With its now 160 children and young people, it is considered a major choral school in Berlin. In 2013, the work was expanded to include a youth choir (Junger Chor). Currently, the approximately 160 children and young people sing in five different choir groups: Small Choir (Young Choir), Large Choir (Pre-Choir), Concert Choir, Voice Changer (group of young male voices) and Young Choir (young male and female voices). The various choirs not only perform on the opera stage, but have also made a name for themselves in concert life and competitions. Choir tours have taken the choir to the Salzburg Festival and to South Africa for the World Choir Games, the largest choir meeting in the world. DOBOLINO supports the children's choir financially and organizationally, e.g. with uniform concert clothing, practice instructors, rooms or trips.
